Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 20-bed telemetry unit caring for post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients, requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 20-bed telemetry unit with 3 PCU beds
• Cares for post-op CABG, cardiac surgery, valve repair/replacement, and vascular surgery patients along with CHF and moderate risk chest pain cases
• Patients present with multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs
• Patients are transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift, 7p-7a, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Required to work weekends and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 3 months of hire
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though preferred

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans based on the nursing process
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Collaborate with case management and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, falls, and pressure ulcer prevention
