American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years OR experience with dedicated cardiac and vascular background and Ohio compact or state licensure.

• CVOR unit within a Level I Trauma facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• Fixed or rotating weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrub role required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• 3 years overall OR experience required with 2 years dedicated to cardiac and vascular surgery
• 1 year of CVOR experience required
• 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience in vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and general OR procedures required
• Familiarity with electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords
• Cardiac and lung transplant experience is a hardstop requirement
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN accepted as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Perform surgical scrub duties across CVOR, general OR, hybrid OR, and trauma settings
• Support a wide range of vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, plastics, robotics, and general surgery procedures
• Knowledge of infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol time-out procedures required
• Experience with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel positions at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
