American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active CA RN license and at least 2 years of recent med-surg/telemetry experience.

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic charting system preferred experience

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant med-surg/telemetry experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and high flow nasal cannula management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response protocols
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including those with orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical needs
• Manage patients with conditions such as renal failure, substance withdrawal, and spinal cord injury
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
