American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring BSN, CA RN license, and prior travel experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Obtains 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Manages patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• May float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius if qualified

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (TNCC preferred, CEN preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required (Cerner proficiency preferred)
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube insertion/management, and interpretation of ABGs
• Skilled in intubation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in emergency medication administration and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with CVA/neurological emergencies
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma setting
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or affiliated sites must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Completes required training modules during pre-start and annually via UC Learning
