American Traveler is hiring an experienced Wound Care RN with hospital experience and required WCC certification for a 13-week assignment with day shifts.

Details

• Hospital-based Wound Care unit assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
• One Saturday shift required per month
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage as needed
• Cares for patients with routine, new, and chronic pressure injuries
• Manages common and rare dermatologic conditions including necrotizing fasciitis
• Cares for new ostomy placements
• Uses wound vacs, novel wound therapies, and camera photography for wound documentation
• No tissue analytics equipment used

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• WCC certification required
• ACLS and WOCN certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Recent hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in wound/ulcer assessment and management including pressure, venous, and arterial ulcers
• Experience with wound treatments including debridement, wound vac therapy, and dressing changes
• Skilled in colostomy/ileostomy care and management
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive wound and ostomy care including assessment, staging, and treatment of pressure injuries (Stage I-IV)
• Perform wound cultures, dressing changes, and manage complex wound therapies
• Support patients with new ostomy placements including stoma care and equipment selection
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• First-time travelers not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment required for consideration
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
