American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring CA licensure and at least 2 years of high acuity nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital setting
• Care for high acuity ICU patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
• Perform tasks such as starting IVs, accessing ports, administering medications, moderate sedation, and managing vasoactive drips and ventilators
• Assist anesthesia with induction and intubation/extubation for adults and pediatric patients
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• No weekend shift requirement, though weekend and weeknight on-call may be required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of high acuity nursing experience required
• IR or other procedural nursing experience preferred; ICU or ED experience will be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation and laser safety regulations
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient care including medication administration, treatments, and procedures
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to identify and pursue expected patient outcomes
• Continuously evaluate patient needs and adjust care plans to optimize outcomes
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of procedures and patient information
• Assist a multidisciplinary team in preparing and turning over procedure rooms efficiently
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
