American Traveler is hiring a Pre-Op/PACU/Post-Op RN for a flexible day-shift orthopedic surgery position requiring an active RN license and ACLS/PALS certification.

Details

• Work in a combined Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II Post-Op unit within an orthopedic surgical hospital
• Unit includes 8 Pre/Post beds, 3 PACU bays, 3 operating rooms, and 1 procedure room
• Staff includes a day-shift charge nurse and 5-6 additional RNs covering Pre/Post and PACU
• Patient ratios are 1-2 in PACU, 1 in Pre-Op, and 2-3 in Post-Op Phase II
• Common procedures include total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, ortho spine, pain management, and ortho-sports medicine cases
• Uses IV pumps, orthopedic braces, icing coolers, and SCDs
• Utilizes EPIC EMR
• Schedule is Monday through Friday days, flexible between 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, and 7:30 AM start times
• Shifts may include a mix of 8- and 10-hour options, with 32-40 hours per week negotiable
• Some on-call responsibilities required for evenings and weekends, approximately 9 shifts per schedule cycle
• No regularly scheduled weekend hours, though weekend call is possible
• Willingness to float to a local affiliate hospital campus required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Pre-Op/PACU/Post-Op nursing
• CAPA or CPAN certification preferred
• Ortho total joint, spine, or sports medicine experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II recovery areas
• Work with a small, consistent team each shift while managing multiple assignments throughout the day
• Professional, self-motivated, organized candidates with strong communication skills are ideal fits
• Scrub color is ceil blue, with lab coat provided
• No visible tattoos or facial piercings permitted
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a reduced bill rate
