American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Acute Dialysis with apheresis and dialysis skills for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care inpatient dialysis and apheresis unit supporting GVHD, BO, CTCL, and photopheresis patients
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating call required
• Uses CellEx apheresis equipment
• Cerner charting experience required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with apheresis equipment or dialysis, central lines, and ports
• Experience with plasma exchange and red blood cell exchange preferred
• Skilled in initiating/setting up dialysis treatment, cannulating AV fistulas and grafts, and managing tunneled/non-tunneled catheters
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Travel experience required if candidate has prior apheresis experience
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for acute dialysis and apheresis treatments including blood priming, plasma exchange, and post-treatment care
• Apply infection control principles and monitor/manage dysrhythmias
• IN residents are considered local candidates but are not accepted for this unit type
• Must be away from IU Health for 12 months if previously a perm or PRN employee before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; longer requests require facility approval
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
