American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Intermediate Care (IMC) position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the IMC unit of a teaching hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• 4x12 or 3x12 schedules accepted
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Epic charting experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Preference for candidates with at least 3 years of core staff experience prior to travel nursing
• Must pass telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation criteria

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response support
• Manage IV therapy, central/PICC lines, arterial lines, and blood product administration
• Support respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and airway management
• Administer cardiac drips without titration and manage heparin protocols
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Certificate of completion for cardiac interpretation review course required if telemetry exam is failed twice
• Assignment may be cancelled if telemetry exam is not passed within three attempts
