American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring 3 years of ENDO experience and pediatric, Cerner, and bronchoscopy experience within the last 2 years.

Details

• Endoscopy unit in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• 1:1 patient ratios providing pre/post and intraprocedural care
• High volume of both pediatric (0 months-18 years) and adult cases
• Pediatric cases scheduled Monday through Thursday
• Unit performs Upper & Lower GI, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, and Pain Management procedures
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM
• Block schedule available with 4 consecutive days (candidate's choice M-F or Mon-Wed and Fri)
• No weekend requirement for scheduled shifts
• On-call required: one M-Th shift (1700-0530) per week and one weekend (Friday 1700-Monday 0530) every 6 weeks
• Floating required to PACU if needed
• Cerner EMR required for charting; Provation experience preferred

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Minimum 3 years of ENDO experience required
• Pediatric, Cerner, and bronchoscopy experience required within the last 2 years
• Cerner charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Experience with procedures including Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, EUS, EBUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices/banding
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Ability to recover patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• 2 supervisor references required
• RN must have graduated from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for GI/Endoscopy procedures on both pediatric and adult patients
• Administers medications including opioid analgesics as part of procedural care
• Works with specialized equipment including balloon dilators, bronchoscopy carts, ERBE units, electrosurgical units, and polyp snares
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking available on-site
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are not accepted as local candidates for this position
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
