Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week acute care assignment with day/night rotation and every other weekend required, requiring an active MN RN license and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Acute care ICU unit with 5 beds
• Patient ratio of 2 patients per RN
• Day/Night rotating shifts, available as 8s or 12s (07-1530, 15-2330, 23-0730, or 07-1930/19-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to Med Surg required
• Uses Paragon-Hospital and Allscripts Touch Works-Clinis EMR systems
• Tele/monitor techs available on unit
• Common drips include Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, and Vasopressors
• Hamilton C-1 ventilators used
• Hospitalist in house; RT leaves at 6pm with 10 minute on-call response; pharmacy in house until 10pm, remote thereafter
• No dedicated charge nurse; nurse aides available as needed
• No dedicated IV team
• 1-2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Experience with Allscripts charting system

Additional Information

• Care for stroke patients, including TPN administration
• Manage STEMI and non-STEMI cases
• 7 major holidays observed with scheduled coverage
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue for RN
• Willing to wait for license processing prior to start
