American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with Level III NICU and Level I Trauma Center experience for a Neonatal ICU position requiring CT compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the NICU unit of a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center
• Average patient ratio of 1:2-4
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) or Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) available
• Schedule is set in 6-week blocks based on census and staffing needs
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with Level III NICU experience preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• Experience with IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs required
• Central line/implanted line care experience required
• Phlebotomy skills required
• Experience with placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes required
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide neonatal intensive care nursing across a range of acuities
• Complete a pass/fail medication competency assessment during unit orientation covering dosage calculations and the Five Rights of Medication Administration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval
