American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Monday-Friday day shift position with no weekends or call, requiring CA RN licensure and case management background.

• Case Management department setting within a managed care environment
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends
• No on-call responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant case management experience
• Broad knowledge of health care delivery and case management within a managed care environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
• Working knowledge of CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC regulations affecting case management practice
• Knowledge of post-acute levels of care and associated regulatory compliance requirements
• Awareness of healthcare reimbursement systems (HMO, PPO, PPS, CMS, value-based models) preferred
• General understanding of coding and DRG assignment process preferred
• Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
• Excellent time management skills for high-volume, rapidly changing environment
• Intermediate computer and technology skills
• AHA or ARC certifications required for any applicable certifications
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for travel rate eligibility
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
