Description

American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a night shift behavioral health unit requiring 2+ years of experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Behavioral health unit with 72 beds serving adult patients
• Common diagnoses include alcohol and drug addiction, bi-polar disorder, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and schizophrenia
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Night shift 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses HCS and Pxyis systems along with paper charting

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• BLS and Handle With Care (HWC) certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Experience with COWS, CIWA, code blue and violent patient response, admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and medication administration required
• De-escalation skills required
• Experience with Pxyis and HCS systems

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient admissions, discharges, shift assessments, and both emergency and routine medication administration
• Candidates should be pleasant, hardworking, detail-oriented, and strong team players
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs with a shirt underneath or scrub coat, with no hoods permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
