Description

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN Circulator requiring an active Ohio or compact RN license and at least one year of OR experience for a Level I trauma facility with call requirements.

Details

• Circulates in an 8-suite CVOR department
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM)
• Call required at minimum 1-2 days per week plus at least one weekend per month (Fri-Sun), including heart call as assigned
• Functions as team member and charge nurse as assigned
• Uses Epic for charting
• May float between Miami Valley Hospital and Atrium Medical Center at facility discretion

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license required
• BSN or ASN required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum one year of OR experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience with general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, and urology procedures
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and blood/blood product administration
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Must be comfortable working with acutely ill patients including emergency situations
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Responsible for maintaining high standards of nursing care within scope of practice and coordinating care delivered by the interdisciplinary team
• Provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support impacting patient and family outcomes
• Must comply with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and applicable regulatory standards
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per contract due to low census
• Facility reserves the right to cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine
• Maximum RTO of 14 days allowed per contract, with no schedule requests or RTO negotiated after an offer is made
• References are not required for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Candidates with past license disciplinary action will not be accepted
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency employees not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
