American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment at a critical access hospital, requiring Trauma Level IV and Epic experience.

Details

• Critical access hospital with 25 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Approximately 20 visits per day across 7 rooms/beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Required to work at least every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including to Anderson County Hospital
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required, along with Missouri license or compact in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with 2 years of recent specialty experience preferred
• Full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
• Trauma Level IV experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: general ED care for combined adult/pediatric patients, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response

• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service if previously worked at the facility within 18 months, and permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
