American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift NICU RN for a Level III-IV Neonatal ICU position requiring AR or compact RN licensure and 3 years of NICU clinical experience.

Details

• 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Level III-IV 104-bed NICU organized into 8-bed pods
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 based on acuity
• Support staff includes 1-2 PCTs per shift and onsite Advanced Practice providers
• Uses EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent, and IMV
• Respiratory Therapy manages ventilators with Anesthesia support available
• Floating required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, IMU), with travelers floated first
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
• No self-scheduling or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active AR or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU required
• NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
• Must pass a facility fit test (no facial hair unless for religious beliefs)
• Must test negative for nicotine
• Specialty skills checklist and recent reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work in a 359-bed, Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Care for a complex patient population including micro-premature infants, VLBW infants, chronic lung disease, NEC, diaphragmatic hernia, and post-surgical cases
• Average patient length of stay is approximately 40 days
• Dedicated multidisciplinary care team supports the unit
• 2-3 days of facility orientation and specialty testing required
• Must follow facility-specific dress code policy
