American Traveler is hiring a Step Down Unit RN for a night shift position requiring ACLS certification and cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Provides nursing care to patients in the step down unit (PCU/SCU)
• Cardiac telemetry and stable acute coronary syndrome patient population
• Manages care for patients post coronary intervention, permanent pacemaker placement, and AICD placement
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Float to Med/Surg unit as needed

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from an approved vendor required
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years preferred
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course preferred
• Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred
• No prior adverse licensure actions permitted

Additional Information

• Accurately interprets ECG rhythms and manages patient care during life-threatening emergencies
• Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel as appropriate
• Administers medications and IV therapy, including blood products
• Cares for and maintains indwelling catheters and drains
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac lead functions and monitoring best practices
• Skilled in femoral sheath removal using a Femostop device following coronary interventions
• Verifies alarm settings with Monitor Technician per policy
• Follows chain of command per hospital policy
• No radius restriction, with local candidates paid at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Traveler may only be submitted to one hospital within the health system at a time
