Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a Compact or LA license, Epic experience, and no less than 1 year of OR experience for a multi-specialty surgical role.

Details

• Small rural hospital OR setting with multi-disciplined staffing
• OR circulator responsible for OR Surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy
• 4 operating rooms with an average daily census of 10
• Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Floats to other departments when census is low
• On-call required 1 day per week and every 4th to 5th weekend, with a 30-minute arrival requirement when called
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or Louisiana) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Broad OR skill set required across specialties including gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, vascular, urology, ENT, thoracic, and pediatric procedures
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris equipment

Additional Information

• Circulates for OR Surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy cases
• First week on unit includes 2 days of buddy call
• Not a designated trauma facility, though occasional trauma cases may present through the ER
• Orientation held 5 days per week
• RTO must be discussed during the interview process
• Previous Ochsner Health employees must be separated for at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended on-site presence during emergency events
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
