Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN with at least 2 years of critical care and telemetry experience for a 13-week travel assignment requiring active OR RN licensure and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work in a blended cardiovascular care unit with 18 CVICU beds and 12 CVIMCU beds
• Care for adult patients (16+) with primary cardiac diagnoses including heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, CABG, valve repair/replacement, VATS/thoracotomy, IABP therapy, Impella insertion, post-PCI, pacemaker insertion, ablation, arrhythmia, STEMI/NSTEMI, and EKOS
• Day shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm
• Floating required between CVICU, CVIMCU, and other ICU/PCU units, as well as to a nearby affiliate hospital approximately 15 minutes away
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant ICU/telemetry experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred, ideally with shock program management background
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Strong cardiovascular clinical background required, including skills in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips

• Provide specialized care within a nationally recognized cardiovascular program, recognized as a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital and recipient of the AACN Silver Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team focused on mentorship and specialty training, including education on IABP, CRRT, targeted temperature management, and ventricular assist devices
• May be required to float to a nearby affiliate hospital; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
• Former permanent employees of the health system are ineligible to accept travel positions within six months of their termination date
• RTO must be finalized prior to submission, and additional RTO requests after submission may impact contract eligibility
• Facility does not accommodate block scheduling
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
