American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Clinic RN with Epic experience and required ONS/ONCC certification for a day-shift assignment.

Details

• Outpatient Oncology Clinic setting with a 1:7 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend, call, or float requirements
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact License required at time of consideration, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC
• Preferred certification: OCN
• Previous travel experience required
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central and PICC line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Experience monitoring chemotherapy and recognizing abnormal lab values preferred
• Experience with biotherapy administration and side effect management preferred
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and leukemia/blood dyscrasias
• Phlebotomy skills preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• At least two recent manager references required

Additional Information

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments and monitor for side effects
• Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
• Manage infusion pumps, ports, and central lines for treatment delivery
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Strict 5-day maximum RTO policy
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Former LCMC Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before eligibility for travel assignment
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement
