American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA or Surgical First Assistant with CVOR experience and proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting for a Level I trauma hospital operating room.

Details

• Acute hospital OR setting including CVOR, ambulatory surgery center, and trauma cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00am-3:30pm
• Call requirement of 12-18 days per month
• Weekend requirement of 2-3 weekends per month
• Float requirement to general FA coverage including ortho, vascular, gyn, thoracic, and general surgeries when cardiac is not applicable
• Travelers are first to float
• Epic EMR experience required
• Wide range of surgical specialties covered including vascular, gynecology, plastics, ENT, neurology, trauma, podiatry, general surgery, and orthopedics

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
• RNFA or Surgical Tech First Assistant (STFA) accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 5 years strongly preferred
• CVOR experience required
• Must be proficient in endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous travel experience strongly preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration, or exemption request submitted within 48 hours of signing
• Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

• Perform first assist duties across a broad range of surgical procedures including vascular, cardiac, gynecologic, thoracic, orthopedic, neurologic, and general surgery cases
• Utilize advanced equipment including cell saver, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), electrosurgical units, and multiple drill systems
• Apply aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and laser safety protocols
• Perform surgical first assist skills such as tissue dissection, suturing, vessel ligation, and vein harvesting
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Modules required during orientation and annually, self-reported and non-billable
