Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/Telemetry RN for a night shift position in a specialized cardiac ICU setting caring for pre/post open-heart surgery and complex cardiology patients.

Details

• 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) using a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge
• Cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients
• 3rd shift schedule, 6:30p-7a, every other weekend
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, treatments, and coordination of admission, transfer, and discharge activities
• Delivers patient and family-centered education and care coordination
• Delegates tasks appropriately and oversees team members in patient care activities
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Clinical educator provides customized orientation for new team members
