American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Apheresis with a minimum of 3 years of apheresis or dialysis experience and IN or Compact RN license in hand for a hospital-based position.

Details

• Apheresis unit within a hospital setting supporting GVHD, BO, CTCL, and Photopheresis patient populations
• 1:1 patient ratios
• 4x10 hour day shifts scheduled 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating call required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Uses CellEx apheresis equipment
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of apheresis or dialysis experience required
• Experience with central lines and ports required
• Ability to cannulate AV fistula and AV graft
• Experience with tunneled and non-tunneled catheters
• Skilled in initiating and setting up dialysis treatment
• RN must have graduated from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Prior travel experience required if candidate has apheresis experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include apheresis treatment, blood priming, post-apheresis treatment, red blood cell exchange, and therapeutic plasma exchange/plasmapheresis
• Also involves post-dialysis treatment and blood return procedures
• Knowledge of infection control and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
• IN residents are considered local candidates
• Local candidates are not accepted for this unit type per facility rules on MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
