American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neuro ICU position requiring an active CA RN license and at least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of a Level II Trauma hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• May float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand prior to consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required, as reflected on application
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and teaching/community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Proficiency with skills including ICP monitoring, EVD management, lumbar drains, post neurosurgery care, TBI, and CVA/stroke management preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and cardiac drip titration required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients, including post-neurosurgical, stroke, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Manage complex procedures such as ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains, and hypothermia protocols
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
