American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a night shift telemetry position requiring 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital environment
• Cardiac and telemetry patient population including COPD, CAD, CHF, AFib, and Sepsis cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Performs skills such as starting IVs, chest tubes, cardiac drips, and bedside cardioversion
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active IL RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/telemetry nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and management of chest tubes and cardiac drips
• Navy scrubs required for this role
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler at this facility without taking a 6-month break before returning
