American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ED RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of pediatric emergency experience and current ENPC certification.

Details

• Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital setting
• Pediatric Emergency Department unit
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends, which may increase during high census
• 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Scheduled for weekends as needed, including Friday-Sunday nights and Saturday-Sunday days
• May float to Pediatric admission floors based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Admission holds may be boarded in the Pediatric ED for extended periods during high census
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required, pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and ENPC (must be obtained prior to start)
• Preferred certifications: NRP and TNCC
• RQI certifications not accepted in lieu of standard BLS/ACLS
• Pediatric experience required in a combined Adult/Pediatric ED or standalone Pediatric ED
• Trauma/resuscitation experience preferred
• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills required: triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation
• Preferred skills: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, NG tube insertion, and procedural sedation monitoring

Additional Information

• Must work 2 of the 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/Day
• COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions accepted upon completion of required forms
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval
• No RTO permitted during the first 7 days or last day of the contract
• First-time travelers accepted if they have strong pediatric ED experience
• Black scrubs required
• Previous charge experience preferred
