Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med-Surg/PCU mixed unit requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Med-Surg/PCU mixed acuity unit with 9-14 beds
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 18:45-07:15, 3 shifts per week
• RN reads telemetry and titrates limited medications such as heparin
• Cares for general med/surg diagnoses
• Performs skills including EKG monitoring, trach care, PCA, wound vac, and feeding tubes as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Provides patient and family education throughout the care continuum
• Mentors and precepts staff while promoting teamwork and collaboration
• Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel as needed
• Participates in quality, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives
• Works alongside a supportive and mixed-acuity care team
