American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1 year of L&D/couplet care experience and NM or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit
• Patient population includes obstetrical, couplet care, and LDRP patients with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Work setting includes Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Mother/Baby, and Antepartum care
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:30
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification preferred
• 1 year of experience in L&D and couplet care/LDRP required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include newborn care, newborn assessment, infant identification, thermoregulation, labor and delivery management, assisting with vaginal delivery, recovering C-section patients, postpartum care and procedures, breastfeeding/lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, couplet care, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Phototherapy and newborn hypoglycemia management skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care within a hospital setting
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3-4 days of RTO can be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
• Travel pairs or groups not accepted
