American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a 34-bed hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7, with flex staffing to 1:7 during unplanned absences
• Every other weekend required
• PRN on-call required for low census situations
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs and support sister units/facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with MS/Tele, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response required
• Additional preferred skills include PICC line management, central line blood draws, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, cardiac dysrhythmia management, and total joint replacement care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg patient population including telemetry monitoring, wound care, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Utilize rapid response and code team protocols as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Locals not accepted; radius rule of 60 miles applies
• All requested RTO must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November)
