American Traveler is hiring an RN for Pediatric Cardiology to provide pre- and post-anesthesia care for pediatric cardiac patients undergoing cardiovascular, EP, and interventional Cath procedures.

• Pediatric Cardiology unit within a children's hospital setting
• Provides pre and post-anesthesia care for special cardiovascular, EP, and interventional Cath procedures
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
• Also supports sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
• Minimum of 2-3 patient visits per day
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM
• Self-scheduling with the unit team, with a minimum of 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts per month required
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• No floating to sister facilities required
• EMR: Epic experience required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required, must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Pediatric ICU, stepdown, or procedural care nursing experience preferred, cardiac experience a plus
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology required
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform both pre- and post-anesthesia care under limited supervision for a range of pediatric cardiac patients
• Reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Manager
• Staff remain on shift until the last patient is discharged or admitted, though this rarely extends past 7:00 PM
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility's health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for placement, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift every 2 weeks
• All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
