American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a circulating role requiring 2 years of experience or Level I Trauma experience for first-time travelers.

Details

• Circulating position in the CVOR unit, scrubbing not required
• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 24 operating rooms
• Performs cardiovascular procedures including heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Call requirement of approximately 100 hours per 6 weeks, including 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning)
• Floating required to other OR specialties

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required, must be in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Cardiovascular and aortic aneurysm repair skills required
• 2 supervisor references required
• Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE

Additional Information

• Provides circulating RN support for complex cardiovascular surgeries including transplants and aortic procedures
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, additional time requires facility approval
• IN residents are considered local and will receive a lower bill rate
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet trauma experience requirements
• All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
