American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring an active CA RN license and 2+ years of PACU experience with ICU background.

Details

• Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital setting
• Care for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge
• 13-week assignment length
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, start times between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating to other campuses required if needed based on census
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acute care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Extensive cardiac/cath lab experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, and pharmacology required

Additional Information

• Provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care based on nursing process and pharmacology knowledge
• Perform nursing assessments and manage airway, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory care for post-anesthesia patients
• Administer and monitor medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents
• Support a range of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro, ortho, GI, GYN, urology, and more
• Manage patients undergoing various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for local candidate consideration
• Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Only one holiday request off per contract will be approved
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler
