American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• 43-bed Emergency Department including 8 unlocked Behavioral Health Clinical Decision beds and 4 beds for FSED admits/holding
• Average daily census of approximately 145 patients
• General ED population spanning pediatric to geriatric patients with 25-30% admission rate
• Common diagnoses include trauma stabilization, respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health, acute MI, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma
• RN to patient ratio of 1:3-4 based on acuity
• 12-hour night shift schedule with 1700 start, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Required to float within Region 2 including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division facilities (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital) as needed within scope of practice
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, Rover communication, Panda infant warmers, and LUCAS devices

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• General ED skillset required including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
• EPIC EMR experience required
• 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

• Facility has 337 licensed beds with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospital
• Recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• Support team includes HCT/Unit Secretary (1:8-10 ratio), Paramedic, free-floating Charge Nurse, Patient Safety Attendants, dedicated ED Pharmacist (7a-11p), Social Worker, Scheduler, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, ED Physicians and APPs including a Geriatric APP, and 24/7 Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• 75% of holidays required to be worked
