American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with 2+ years of LTC experience and an active TX or compact license for a 13-week Long Term Care assignment in Abilene, TX.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) skilled nursing facility setting
• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• No weekend or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active Texas OTA license or compact equivalent (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long-term care setting
• DOR (Director of Rehab) experience preferred

Additional Information

• Execute therapy plans designed by the supervising OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
• Train patients in ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques and specialized equipment including reachers, mobility aids, and modified utensils
• Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns and report findings to the supervising OT
• Educate and support patients and caregivers on home programs and adaptive strategies
• Candidates previously employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration
