American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position at an academic Level I Trauma Center requiring 2 years of recent CVICU experience and NJ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an academic Level I Trauma Center
• Care for patients requiring cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and ECMO
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
• Floating required within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required (SICU experience considered if initial CVICU training completed)
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax required
• Skilled in A-lines, central/PICC lines, blood product administration, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics/sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and IV insulin protocols
• Respiratory skills including chest tube care, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, ABGs, and suctioning
• Cardiovascular skills including temporary pacers, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG
• Renal/neuro skills including CVVHD/CRRT, stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and lumbar drains
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Skilled in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy
• EPIC EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac surgery, transplant, VAD, TAVR, and ECMO patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
