American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN with a compact or OK license and at least 2 years of experience for a Level I trauma center.

Details

• Float position covering cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
• 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-op care
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs
• Shift schedule of 06:30-19:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage may be required based on department need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OK compact license required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs
• Work in a Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
• Nurses work in a team-based structure supported by PCTs and unit secretaries
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply affecting pay rate
