American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Mother Baby (Post Partum) position in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of Mother Baby experience and working night shifts in a 34-bed couplet unit.

Details

• Located on the 5th floor of a large, 815-bed Magnet®-designated hospital in Asheville, NC
• 34 private couplet rooms on the Mother Baby unit
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:3–4 couplets
• EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)
• Equipment includes Alaris pumps, bilirubin blankets, and bilirubin lights
• Procedures performed on the unit include circumcisions and care of patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
• Weekend shifts required; no on-call shifts
• Floating may be required to L&D and NICU as helping hands
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required — certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of recent Mother Baby / Post Partum RN experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• STABLE certification is preferred but not required
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred
• Candidates who have experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery will be given preference
• Team-oriented candidates with a passion for patient education are the best fit for this unit
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 1 PCT/secretary; night shift mirrors the same structure
• Scrubs: Navy blue and/or white

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
