American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (ACU) day shift position in a rural, culturally rich community in Northwestern Arizona, requiring at least 2 years of acute or sub-acute nursing experience and active AZ or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Works in a Med/Surg Acute Care Unit (ACU) within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities across a 4,400 square mile service area
• 73-bed hospital functioning as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
• Patient population spans all ages, including inpatient and outpatient cases across a broad range of specialties
• Day shift hours: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in an acute or sub-acute facility
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) certification required within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
• Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides professional nursing care to patients of all ages, including assessment, treatment support, and care coordination in accordance with physician orders and facility standards
• Orientation is conducted every 2 weeks
• COVID-19 vaccination required; flu vaccination required — exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
• Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
• Facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau — candidates should be prepared for a remote work environment
• Limited on-site housing may be available at $600/month (shared units, subject to availability); no family members or pets permitted in facility housing
