American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Trauma Level III facility in Tucson, AZ, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active Cerner proficiency.

• Emergency Department setting within a 38-bed facility
• Trauma Level III Certified facility, also designated as a Stroke Receiving and STEMI Receiving center
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 4x12-hour shifts per week
• Cerner EMR — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is recommended but not required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• US Social Security Number required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsible for shift accountability in delivering care to ED patients, applying the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical leadership, and scientific judgment in planning and delivering safe patient care
• Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel
• Black scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
