American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring cardiovascular OR experience and on-call availability including weekends.

• Position is in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at an acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Performs all open heart and vascular procedures, including both open and percutaneous vascular cases
• Hybrid operating suite environment
• Primary schedule is day shift, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 8-hour shifts
• On-call responsibilities extend beyond the primary shift; call coverage is required Monday through Thursday (approximately 1–2 shifts per week) and weekend call runs from Friday at 3:00 PM through Monday at 6:30 AM
• No scheduled weekend shifts — weekend requirement is call coverage only
• Preferred schedule is five 8-hour shifts per week; four 10-hour shifts may be accommodated, particularly for candidates willing to float to the Main OR
• Floating to the Main OR may be required
• Epic EMR in use; recent Epic experience within the last 6 months is helpful for orientation planning
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR preferred
• Active certifications must be in hand at time of consideration; pending certifications are not accepted
• Cardiovascular OR scrub and circulate experience required; open heart experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with a hybrid operating suite is beneficial
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (driver's license used to verify permanent address)
• Candidates must not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity Health) within the past year; those placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for open heart and vascular procedures, assisting anesthesia with induction, and transporting patients to the PACU or inpatient unit
• An open-book, pass/fail skills exam is administered on the first Friday of orientation; a score of 90% or higher is required to pass — failure to pass will result to contract termination
• Orientation is 12 hours
• RTO must be disclosed upfront; a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract is permitted, and additional RTO will not be approved
• Flexible scheduling is expected — block scheduling is not available
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination
• COVID vaccination status must be disclosed
