Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Therapeutic Infusion position requiring Epic proficiency and infusion or IV/phlebotomy experience in a specialized transfusion medicine setting.

Details

• Outpatient therapeutic infusion unit within a large academic medical center
• Specialized unit performing therapeutic apheresis procedures including plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, and HPC stem cell collections supporting renal, pulmonary, and BMT programs
• Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour shifts (8:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• 40 hours per week, no weekends required
• No on-call required
• Epic EMR required
• Basic vital signs equipment used, including IV pump programming

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license currently valid in NC
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Infusion experience and/or phlebotomy and IV skills strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred

• Performs therapeutic apheresis procedures and delivers complex patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Participates in patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Supports unit performance improvement activities and professional development goals
• Holiday coverage may be required for UNC-designated holidays
