American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position in Rochester, NY, requiring telemetry skills, phlebotomy competency, and a valid NY RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac and stroke diagnoses
• Day/evening patient ratio is 5:1 (with stretch to 6-7); night ratio is 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10)
• PCTs are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating may be required to like units including MS, ICU, and ED
• Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed
• EMR: Epic (preferred)

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Phlebotomy competency and IV placement skills are mandatory for all RNs at this facility
• Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care/management, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Required equipment experience: nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and Hoyer lifts
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
