American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital, requiring at least 1 year of endoscopy experience and a valid NM or Compact RN license.

Details

• Endoscopy unit in a Level I Trauma, academic teaching, and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds
• Patient population spans all age groups including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30
• Candidates should be aware that on-call coverage for late-running cases may require staying until 19:00–20:00, approximately 1–2 times per week
• No weekend requirements
• No floating required
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Green scrubs are provided by the facility
• No parking fee

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy RN experience required
• Experience in endoscopy, patient admission, sedation, and recovery required
• 13-week contract (minimum contract length is 10 weeks)
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions
• Responsibilities include delivering direct patient care using the nursing process in an ambulatory setting, providing patient and family education, assuming relief charge duties when designated, and ensuring adherence to hospital and departmental policies
• Provides clinical leadership and mentorship to staff and serves as a role model
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Time off requests exceeding 7 days require approval
• A 6-month break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the 1-year mark, whichever comes first
