American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care/Echo Cardiac & Stress Testing unit position requiring cardiac critical care experience and proficiency with TEE and cardioversion procedures.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an Echocardiography/Critical Care unit with 2 procedure rooms and patient bedside in hospital rooms
• Patient population includes those undergoing Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), cardioversions, and stress testing
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with approximately 40 patients scanned per day
• Averages approximately 8 TEEs and/or cardioversions per day
• Equipment used includes Life Pak defibrillator, Accudose, and EPIC/CUPID charting systems
• EPIC EMR is used in this position
• Monday through Friday, day shift, 8.5-hour shifts
• Candidates with stress testing experience will rotate through weekend call — one weekend per month — and holidays
• No floating to other units or departments

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (must be AHA-issued; no pending certifications accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required; cardiac critical care preferred
• Experience administering conscious sedation and recovering patients post-procedure required
• Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation required
• Strong patient assessment skills required
• Stress testing experience preferred but not required
• Two current professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Assists with TEEs, cardioversions, and stress testing procedures, including administration of conscious sedation and post-procedure patient recovery
• Collaborates with charge nurses and providers as part of the care team
• A brief orientation program is provided (approximately 8 hours)
• Sanford Navy Blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered but at a reduced travel pay rate
