American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Alabama, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience with strong cardiac monitoring skills and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a community hospital PCU/Stepdown unit with Med-Surg telemetry experience required
• Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry patients requiring close monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating to Med-Surg units is required
• Skills required include cardiac drip management (no titration), IV therapy, heparin protocols, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration required
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams expected

Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience in Telemetry and PCU/Stepdown settings required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Prior permanent employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and are eligible at a different rate
• Hospital housing is available on-site; units are gender-specific with shared common spaces and private bedrooms, no dogs allowed, and travelers coordinate directly with the facility
• The facility is located in a remote area; on-site housing is strongly recommended
