American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification and demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams independently.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit at an acute care facility with 320 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend availability required every other weekend, with potential to exceed based on unit need
• Floating may be required to Mother Baby unit and across facilities within the state
• Epic EMR experience required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Scrubs are provided for L&D

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (hard stop — must have a passing score)
• Minimum of 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision (hard stop requirement)
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility should inquire about local pay rates
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in assignment termination
