American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Birth Center Labor & Delivery position requiring strong L&D clinical skills and a minimum of 2 years of experience, working 12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Work in a 20-bed Birth Center with 12 L&D beds, 8 PP/Antepartum beds (including 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 ORs), and a 6-bed Level II NICU
• Patient population includes laboring patients, antepartum, and postpartum mothers and newborns
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Proficiency in cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnioinfusions, epidural assistance, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration required
• Ability to circulate C-sections required
• Baby catching/receiving skills required
• APGAR scoring knowledge required
• Breastfeeding knowledge required
• At least one supervisor-level reference required for consideration, with a second required prior to start (must be from Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above)

Additional Information

• Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby is strongly preferred
• Scrub experience is a bonus — a Scrub Tech is always on site, but scrub-trained RNs may be utilized for sick call coverage
• A NP is available on call for support
• Multilingual ability (Russian or Spanish) is preferred given the patient population
• Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
