American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for an ambulatory clinic practice nurse role requiring a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience and ONS certification.

Details

• Ambulatory oncology clinic setting within a large, Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Practice nurse role focused on oncology patients before, during, and after treatments, including follow-up, pre-op, and post-op appointments — this is not an infusion role
• Responsibilities include telephone triage, in-basket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
• May float between specialties as needed
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekend requirements
• Charts in Epic EMR
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license considered if active prior to start date
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Ambulatory or clinic (practice nurse) experience required
• Phone triage experience required
• Prior experience at a large trauma center facility required
• Clean nursing license required — no prior disciplinary actions on record
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions are accepted
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
