American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Illinois, requiring 2 years of recent PACU experience and mandatory float availability across Cook County facilities.

Details

• Works in the PACU department of an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float to other Cook County facilities at the facility's discretion, up to 50 miles away
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Parking is available in an adjacent garage for $5 per entry

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience in an acute care facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Information

• Proof of COVID vaccination is required; no exceptions (booster not required)
• RTO is capped at 5 days total per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• No RTO approved on weekends, on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• Clinicians may receive float notification as little as 2 hours before their shift; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
• When floated outside primary competency, a team-based care model is used
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; local candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Scrubs may be any color
